Young Sommelier Panel Tomorrow
filed under: Events
I'm really excited to announce that I'll be taking part in a panel discussion tomorrow at San Fran's Commonwealth Club called "Hot Young Sommeliers: Wine Gurus Tell All." While I can't attest to the "Hot" part, I'm thrilled to be included in a lineup with two impressive local wine talents, Oola Wine Director (and past Michael Mina somm) Mark Bright and Christie Dufault, Sommelier at Quince Restaurant. Leslie Sbrocco, author of Wine for Women and host of "Check, Please! Bay Area" will moderate. Read on for dets and ticket info.
The Juicy Details
Tomorrow's event aims to stoke discussion of current and emerging trends in the wine world from the perspective of the panel. The approximately 40-minute (hopefully lively!) panel chat will be followed by Q&A from the audience and then a tasting for all attendees of wines from the event's 10 sponsoring wineries (see list below). Should be a fun event and it would be great to see Hip Tastes supporters there!
More about the event, from the Commonwealth Club web site:
San Francisco's new breed of sommeliers is as highly sought as a Screaming Eagle and as fresh as an Australian Shiraz. Young wine lovers, makers and educators are breaking new ground in the way wine is created and enjoyed by experimenting with new varietals, blends and packaging. Our city's leading sommeliers will help you unlock the mysteries of their art and introduce you to hot new trends, food pairings and the basics of ordering.
